Ice Wolves Region 4 Report

Region 4 Hockey Council

General Membership Meeting
Meeting was held on 8/19/09.

Treasurer’s Report: Open position. Revenues were up about $4,500 over expenses last season. Assets of approximately $30,000. Fenton Kelsey Fund paid out $2,400 last season with about $11,000 remaining in the fund. Applications for funds must be submitted by November 1st.

Executive Committee Report: Within Committee discussed W.A.H.A. transfer/release policy, league formats.

Referee’s Report: Hockey Payment Services will have an ownership change, no pre-payment for Officials this season, Invoices will be e mailed with Treasurers to acknowledge and cut checks within 10 days. Club Presidents and Treasurers will get logins to check invoices. Clinics are up on the web at DCHOA.org.

Ice Scheduler’s Report: October 17th is the date that Clubs must have Teams and League levels submitted, submissions can be by e mail to the Region 4 Ice Scheduler, Jerry Swenson. From October 17-24 ALD’s will go over League placements with the League placement meeting on October 24, location and time to follow. One person per team per club must attend. League playoffs will be February 12, 13, 14 2010.

Web Master Report: There have been e mail complications with Region 4 site, please be patient.

W.A.H.A. Report: Directors Meeting will be Sept. 10-11 with Hall Of Fame inductions on Sept. 12 in Eagle River. Coop requests must be submitted by Sept. 9th with letters from both Clubs.

Old Business: Pee Wee league games will be scheduled for 1 hr 15 min. No Zam between periods unless deemed necessary by Rink and Coaches.

Miscellaneous: ALD Elections will be held at the next General Meeting. The idea of a Region 4 Coaching Meeting was put out for discussion among Clubs, it would be to discuss issues region wide and would include material from Level 5 Clinic. Discussed the idea of holding the Team Rep. /Mgr’s Meeting after the October General Membership Meeting rather than a separate meeting with generally positive response. R4HC Youth Service Day will be September 13th from 1pm-3pm. Let Region know what Association is planning, Region will provide a banner and help with publicity. W.A.H.A. Fall Meeting will be held September 16th at the Eagles Nest Ice Arena @ 6:30pm to pick up books with the Region 4 General Membership Meeting to follow.

Association Reports: Middleton has been moved up to a level 1 Association. Monroe is struggling with numbers with only a little more than 40 skaters currently registered.
